Duchess of Sussex focuses on future plans, distancing from royal controversies
Meghan Markle has reportedly decided on a new strategy for her and Harry's future, opting to pursue her independent projects while remaining clear of royal controversies. Despite recent speculation, insiders reveal that the Duchess of Sussex is not advocating for Harry’s return to a full-time royal role and has no intention of moving back to the UK.
According to sources close to the Sussexes, Meghan is focused on creative ventures, including potential books, podcasts, and interviews, without revisiting past conflicts with the royal family. “She’s looking to the future, avoiding any public retaliation against her in-laws,” an insider shared, noting that she intends to uphold the dignity and discretion she’s demonstrated since her 2021 Oprah interview.
Royal expert Jennie Bond observed that Meghan has avoided controversy since then, suggesting that the former Suits star has shifted her approach. However, Bond added that Meghan’s memoirs from her time in the palace remain “a potential weapon” should she ever feel compelled to respond to the royals.
Meanwhile, Meghan and Harry, who recently bought a property in Portugal near Princess Eugenie’s home, plan to spend time in Europe. The couple is reportedly embracing a “professional separation” while remaining supportive of each other’s projects and proud to retain their Duke and Duchess titles.
At the same time, King Charles has shown no signs of abdicating, staying committed to his lifelong role, which may put William’s ascent on hold while Meghan and Harry continue to shape their lives outside the royal fold.
