Duchess of Sussex Stays in US as Harry Makes Fourth Solo Trip to the UK in 2024
Meghan has once again opted not to accompany Harry on his latest UK visit for the 2024 WellChild Awards, signalling her continued reluctance to return to the country. While the proximity of her upcoming travel to Germany for the Invictus Games made a stop in the UK convenient, Meghan chose to bypass the opportunity and head directly to Düsseldorf.
Harry, who has made several solo trips to the UK since 2023, has previously expressed concerns for Meghan’s safety, which he cited as a primary reason for her absence. Since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022, Meghan has not set foot in the UK and shows no signs of returning in the near future.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are increasingly focusing on separate engagements, with Meghan potentially delaying any future UK visits until 2027, when the Invictus Games are set to take place in Birmingham. However, concerns over security may extend her absence even further.
