Jennie Bond highlights missed opportunity for Meghan’s role in the monarchy
Royal commentator Jennie Bond has suggested that the Royal Family could have offered greater support to Meghan Markle during her time as a working royal. According to Bond, the Duchess of Sussex, who along with Harry stepped down from royal duties in 2020, had the potential to be a valuable asset to the modern monarchy.
"Meghan could have been such a credit to the Royal Family... exactly what a modern monarchy needs," Bond remarked, acknowledging Meghan’s independence, career achievements, and charitable work. However, Bond noted that Meghan's assertive nature may have contributed to tensions, saying, "By all accounts, Meghan is a bit of a diva. She didn’t like what she saw, and she didn’t like her wings being clipped."
Since relocating to the U.S., the couple has faced challenges with their professional ventures. Reports indicate that after difficulties with joint projects, the Duke and Duchess have opted to pursue more independent careers. Prince Harry has taken on solo initiatives in places like New York and South Africa, while Meghan has been making her own appearances in California.
