Royal expert Hugo Vickers believes there may be deeper reasons behind their decision. One factor is the presence of Harry's cousin, their daughters, who live in Portugal and maintain close ties with him. Vickers also speculated that the couple might be preparing for potential political changes in the US, particularly if former President Donald Trump is re-elected.
Trump, who has been irked by past comments from Meghan Markle, might use his power to expel Harry from the country, the expert suggested. Harry’s previous visa application faced scrutiny over drug use admissions in his memoir, Spare, raising concerns about possible deportation. However, a judge ruled that the public’s interest in Harry’s immigration records was insufficient to warrant their release, protecting the Duke of Sussex for now.
