Duke of Sussex plans new direction after past ventures faced setbacks
Prince Harry is reportedly preparing for a significant relaunch of his own, while Meghan Markle continues to work on her lifestyle brand. The Duke of Sussex, who has often been seen with his wife, has been making more solo appearances at high-profile events, sparking speculation of a professional separation between the two.
According to royal expert Hugo Vickers, Harry may be planning to reshape his public image, possibly returning to the strengths that once defined his royal duties. “It could be a new image, or it could indeed be the old image,” Vickers told The Sun. “He was terribly good at what he did before.”
Harry’s relationship with his family has been strained, especially after the explosive Oprah interview, the Netflix series, and the publication of his memoir Spare. However, recent solo trips back to the UK have been free of controversy, particularly in light of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
Vickers suggested that Harry’s recent moves could signal a more positive approach, noting that the Duke seems to be “putting things in now rather than taking things out,” a welcome change in royal circles.
Currently in South Africa promoting his charity work, Harry’s decision to travel without Meghan has raised questions. Vickers speculated that it could be part of a joint strategy to establish Harry as a more independent figure, especially since some observers felt he appeared "uncomfortable" during joint trips when the focus shifted to Meghan rather than the issues at hand.
