William pushes for action on homelessness as King Charles begins 11-day tour during cancer battle
As King Charles embarks on an 11-day tour of Australia and Samoa, Prince William is taking the lead in setting ambitious goals for his future reign. The Prince of Wales, deeply committed to addressing homelessness—a cause close to his late mother Princess Diana's heart—used the Centrepoint Awards on Wednesday to call for “systemic change” and a focus on preventing homelessness rather than just managing it.
Speaking at the event held at the British Museum, William said, "While homelessness is a complex societal issue, I passionately believe that it can, and should, be ended. Achieving this will require a movement that creates systemic change." He stressed the importance of ensuring affordable living options for young people to thrive independently.
His call to action came as King Charles and Queen Camilla prepared to depart for their first international tour since the King’s cancer diagnosis. Despite pausing his treatment, Charles will maintain a packed schedule, travelling with medical support for the duration of the trip.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that William and Catherine are quietly preparing for their future roles as king and queen, with William taking on an increasingly busy schedule as his father delegates more responsibilities.
