Prince William Criticised for Earning £800,000 Annually from Car Showroom Amid Environmental Advocacy

Concerns Raised Over Future King’s Income from Car Showroom in Conflict with Green Initiatives

Prince William, known for his environmental advocacy and support of the Earthshot Prize, is facing criticism after reports revealed he earns approximately £800,000 a year from a car showroom complex. The income is generated through the Duchy of Cornwall, which he inherited when King Charles ascended to the throne.

The large complex, purchased for £15 million in 2022, includes one of Europe’s biggest Volkswagen showrooms and is associated with brands such as Volvo, Skoda, and Mazda. Although some electric and hybrid vehicles are featured, the association with traditional car brands has raised eyebrows among environmentalists, who argue that this undermines William's eco-friendly image.

Environmental advocates have pointed out the contradiction between William's green commitments and his financial ties to the automotive industry, sparking a debate about the royal family’s stance on sustainability.
