Prince William Misses Paris Olympics Amid Concerns Over Catherine's Health

Duke of Cambridge Prioritises Family as Princess Completes Chemotherapy Treatment

Prince William recently revealed why he did not attend the Paris Olympic Games, explaining that his decision was closely linked to his wife Catherine's health. During an event at Birtley Community Pool, where the Prince of Wales highlighted the importance of swimming and the Royal Foundation’s initiatives, he shared that Catherine was undergoing preventative chemotherapy at the time of the Olympics.

In conversation with swimmer Tom Dean, William expressed his reluctance to attend due to concerns over potentially bringing Covid-19 home to his wife, as chemotherapy weakens the immune system. He added that, although he was keen to go, he chose to prioritise his wife's health.

While William stayed away, other members of the Royal Family, including Princess Anne and the Duchess of Edinburgh, were present at the Games.

Catherine recently released an emotional video confirming the completion of her chemotherapy. Filmed in Norfolk, the message showed her enjoying time with her family and marked the beginning of her gradual return to public life. Despite her recovery, Catherine acknowledged that the path to healing would be long, and she would continue to take things one day at a time.

Her video, which was shot by filmmaker Will Warr, received praise for its candidness and represented a new approach to how the Royal Family manages personal health matters in the public eye.
