Prince William responds to criticism of royal privilege in new documentary on homelessness

Prince of Wales unveils Homewards project, aiming to tackle homelessness by 2023

In a recently released clip from his upcoming ITV documentary, Prince William directly addressed criticism about his royal privilege and its relevance to leading the fight against homelessness through his ambitious Homewards project, launched in June 2023.

During the interview, William was asked about doubts some might have regarding his suitability to lead such an important cause, given his position. In a heartfelt response, the Prince of Wales emphasized his genuine commitment to helping those in need, stating, "I come with no other agenda than desperately trying to help people who are in need."

He went on to explain his perspective on using his royal role to make a difference, asking, "Why else would I be here if I'm not using this role properly to influence and help people where I can?" Acknowledging the magnitude of the challenge, William noted, "I like a big challenge. I do like that, but I can't do it on my own."

The upcoming two-part documentary, Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, airing on October 30 and 31, follows the first year of his Homewards initiative and shares the stories of individuals impacted by homelessness. William’s commitment to the project aims to shift perceptions and create long-term solutions for this pressing issue.
