Future Monarch Ready to Act as King Charles Grows Impatient with Duke of York's Situation
The Duke of York’s ongoing residence at his 30-room mansion has created tension within the Royal Family, with King Charles reportedly growing frustrated. As the monarch hesitates, Prince William is said to be ready to take a decisive step in the matter.
Prince Andrew’s royal titles and patronages were revoked in 2019 following sexual assault allegations and his ties to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Despite the scandal, Queen Elizabeth and the then-Prince Charles found it difficult to address the situation head-on.
According to royal biographer Omid Scobie, it was Prince William who initiated the movement to confront Andrew's actions after his infamous Newsnight interview. William recognised the damage the controversy was causing to the monarchy's reputation, prompting the late Queen to become “the official face of Andrew's reckoning.”
While King Charles has not taken drastic action, insiders reveal he has presented Andrew with two options: either pay for his own lifestyle and repairs at his current residence or move into Frogmore Cottage, formerly occupied by Harry and Meghan. Additionally, Charles has chosen not to renew Andrew's security contracts, leaving the Duke of York with limited choices for his next steps.
