Princess joins husband at Windsor ceremony, delighting fans
Catherine surprised and delighted fans as she made an unexpected appearance alongside her husband, Prince William, at Windsor, shortly after he presided over an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle on Monday. During the event, William presented awards to notable British figures, including ex-Scotland footballer Ally McCoist, who received an OBE for his services to football and broadcasting.
The Prince and Princess of Wales' official social media accounts shared special moments from the ceremony, captioned: "Congratulations to everyone who received honours at Windsor today!" They also highlighted the contributions of Liz Hatton, a young photographer battling cancer, who had the chance to meet Catherine during the event.
In a light-hearted moment, two sporting icons, cyclist Sir Mark Cavendish and former England footballer Karen Carney, shared their awards with each other. Carney joked that she should now refer to Cavendish as "Sir," while Cavendish’s wife, Peta, humorously added, "Don't encourage him."
