Prince of Wales' plea for new Bourne film answered as next installment is announced
Prince William’s long-held dream of seeing another Jason Bourne film is becoming a reality with the announcement of the franchise's sixth movie, The Bourne Dilemma. The highly anticipated film is rumored to feature Matt Damon’s return as the iconic CIA operative.
A known fan of the series, Prince William personally urged director Paul Greengrass to make another Bourne film during a recent BAFTA and Royal African Society event, asking, "Another Bourne, please?" Though Greengrass, who directed three of the previous films, won’t helm this installment, Oscar-winning director Edward Berger of All Quiet on the Western Front will take the reins.
The new film is set to hit theaters in 2026, marking an eight-year gap since the last Jason Bourne movie in 2016. Prince William, a known film enthusiast, has also shared his love for popular TV shows like Downton Abbey and Suits, the latter of which left him and Princess Kate stunned when Harry introduced them to Meghan Markle, one of the show’s stars, before her relationship with Harry was public.
As excitement builds for The Bourne Dilemma, fans eagerly await Matt Damon's return to the action-packed franchise.
