Prince William’s Quiet Stop at Historic Dartmoor Inn During Estate Visit

Rare Update from Palace as William Checks on Family-Owned Landmarks

William, the Duke of Cambridge, recently made a discreet visit to his expansive estate, inherited from his father, King Charles, after his ascension to the throne.

Kensington Palace shared a rare glimpse of William’s low-profile stop at The Warren House Inn, one of the most historic landmarks in Dartmoor, where he appeared to ensure operations were running smoothly.

“William popped into The Warren House Inn earlier, on beautiful Dartmoor. Legend has it the pub fire has been burning since 1845!” the Prince and Princess of Wales' office shared on social media.

A smiling William was captured standing in front of the day’s menu at the well-known inn, which is the highest in Southern England and renowned for its warm hospitality.

According to local lore, the pub’s central fire has been continuously lit since 1845. The inn, located on the sprawling estate, is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall.

This visit follows William’s recent trip to the 700-year-old Duchy of Cornwall estate, where he spent time with students at Duchy College Stoke Climsland in Callington. William participated in a training session with pupils enrolled in the college’s Military & Protective Services Academy.

The stop at the inn may have been part of William’s journey to or from his engagements at the college.
