The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, expressed her excitement over a significant achievement by the British INEOS Britannia sailing team, a sport close to her heart. "Congratulations to @benainslie and the whole INEOS Britannia Team on qualifying for the 37th America's Cup!" the Princess wrote. She commended the team’s "fantastic display of teamwork, skill and determination" and wished them luck for the final challenge, signing off simply as ‘C.’

The team’s qualification came after they triumphed over Italy’s Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli in the first of two races to win the best-of-13 series. Ainslie described the achievement as a "massive day" for the team and reflected on the journey that began a decade ago, with the support of key financial backers, including Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team.

While Kate celebrated this sporting victory, Prince William was busy with his own engagement, visiting a newly reopened community pool in Birtley, Tyne, which had been saved from closure thanks to a fundraising campaign.
