Queen Camilla Delivers Moving Speech in Samoa Amid Prince Harry’s Book Release

Royal Family Shares Keynote Address on Gender-Based Violence Following Duke’s Controversial Timing

Queen Camilla, accompanying King Charles on a historic visit to Samoa, delivered a poignant speech addressing the Commonwealth's efforts to combat gender-based violence. Her heartfelt remarks, which came just hours after Prince Harry’s release of his new paperback book, have been widely shared on the royal family's social media accounts.

In her keynote address, the 77-year-old Queen emphasised the importance of collective action to eradicate abuse, stating, "We know that abuse can be prevented and ultimately eliminated, but only if we work together until that task is completed. That is our commitment—to each other, to the Commonwealth, and to the generations to come."

The timing of Prince Harry’s book release, coinciding with King Charles's significant tour, has sparked criticism. Royal experts described it as "inconvenient," with some viewing it as an attempt to overshadow the King’s historic trip. The paperback edition contains no new content from the original Spare published in January 2023, which included criticisms of William, Princess Catherine, and Queen Camilla. The dedication remains unchanged: "For Meg and Archie and Lili…and of course, my mother."

As the royal couple continues their three-day visit to Samoa, Queen Camilla's speech highlights the ongoing efforts of the Commonwealth to address critical social issues, while the family navigates renewed media attention following Harry’s latest move.
