Queen Consort takes on key engagements as King navigates health challenges
Queen Camilla has assumed a vital role during the royal tour of Australia, stepping into the spotlight as King Charles's health sparks concerns. While the monarch’s brief appearance at a lunch in Sydney raised alarms, the Queen Consort actively engaged in a solo charitable event.
As patron of UKHarvest, a charitable organisation focused on addressing food insecurity, Queen Camilla demonstrated her culinary skills at a special event hosted by OzHarvest. The Palace shared heartwarming photos of her participation, writing, "Refettorio @ozharvest Sydney... is a community hub created to meet the needs of those experiencing food insecurity whilst also preventing food waste."
During the event, Camilla joined chefs and volunteers to help prepare meals for the underprivileged, further highlighting her hands-on approach to royal duties.
With King Charles battling cancer, Camilla’s solo engagements provide much-needed relief. Reports suggest the King’s hasty departure from a lunch in his honour has sparked health concerns, especially as this tour marks his first major foreign visit since his February 2024 diagnosis. Queen Camilla’s efforts underscore her support for both the monarchy and charitable causes amid this challenging time.
