Royal Power Rankings Revealed: Surprise Snub as Senior Royal Falls Out of Favor

YouGov poll highlights unexpected shifts in public sentiment towards the Royal Family

A new YouGov poll has ranked members of the Royal Family by public opinion, revealing both expected and surprising results regarding the popularity of Britain’s most famous figures.

The late Queen Elizabeth II continues to top the charts with an impressive 77% approval rating, even posthumously. Following closely is the Princess of Wales, Catherine, with 73%, solidifying her position as one of the most beloved royals. Princess Anne, known for her unwavering dedication to royal duties, secures third place with a 70% approval rating, while Prince William and King Charles round out the top five.

However, the rankings have highlighted a stark divide in public sentiment, with some members of the family struggling to maintain support. Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, remains the least popular royal with a mere 14% approval rating, reflecting ongoing fallout from past scandals. Meghan Markle also ranks low, placing 17th with only 23% popularity, while Harry, Duke of Sussex, has seen his favorability drop significantly, ranking 15th with just 27%.

One of the most surprising outcomes from the poll is the unexpected snub of a senior working royal, whose ranking fell much lower than anticipated. Despite their prominent role within the family, they have failed to garner the public’s support, reflecting a shift in the public's view of the monarchy as new narratives emerge.
