Royal Title Denied for Beatrice’s New Baby

Royal Title Denied for Beatrice’s New Baby

Tradition and Lineage Prevent Royal Title for 11th in Line to Throne

A royal expert has confirmed that Princess Beatrice's upcoming child will not be granted a royal title. Beatrice, 36, and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 40, are expecting their second child next spring. Like their daughter, Sienna, born in 2021, the new baby will not inherit a title due to traditional reasons.

The decision follows royal protocols, where titles are typically passed down from the father’s side. As Beatrice is female, she cannot pass on the Princely title. Moreover, the title of Prince or Princess is generally reserved for grandchildren of the monarch, excluding great-grandchildren, except those in the direct line of succession.

Although the child will not hold a royal title, they will be born 11th in line to the throne, pushing Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie, down to 12th place. The new addition will be the 14th great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II.

Family members, including Princess Eugenie and the Duchess of York, have expressed their excitement, with Eugenie sharing her joy on social media, looking forward to welcoming "another little one to the gang."
