William Jokes About Avoiding Middleton Family's Competitive Game Nights

James Middleton reveals William’s reluctance to join intense family card games

James Middleton has shared a light-hearted insight into Prince William’s early days with the Middleton family, admitting that the future King often found the family's game nights a little too competitive. James, 37, revealed that William would occasionally come up with "excuses" to avoid playing Racing Demon, a fast-paced card game popular with the Middletons.

The revelations came during James' appearance on the Walking The Dog podcast, where he fondly recalled how game nights were a staple after family dinners. Despite the friendly atmosphere, William would sometimes find himself needing to "take the dog for a walk" or otherwise avoid the competitive edge of the gatherings.

The competitive spirit runs deep in the Middleton family, with both Catherine and her sister, Pippa, excelling in sports during their school days. Catherine even captained her hockey team while attending Marlborough College.

Fans got a glimpse of the family's closeness and support for one another in a video shared by Catherine, in which she emotionally reflected on her own journey through cancer treatment, announcing the end of her chemotherapy.
