King Charles Shows Support as Duchess Sophie Embarks on a New Chapter
Buckingham Palace has honoured Duchess Sophie with a heartfelt tribute as she begins her role as the new Royal Patron of Plan UK, a children's rights organisation.
On November 26, the royal family's official Instagram page celebrated Sophie’s appointment, highlighting her commitment to humanitarian causes. The organisation praised her recent visit to the Chad-Sudan border, where she witnessed the impact of conflict on young women and girls.
In a statement recognising the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Plan UK said, “We are reminded of the importance of having champions like The Duchess raising awareness about the barriers facing girls in times of crisis. We look forward to working with her to drive forward equality worldwide.”
Duchess Sophie has increasingly taken on more responsibilities, especially following King Charles and Catherine’s health challenges. Recently, she represented the King by delivering his message at the 50th-anniversary memorial service for the Birmingham pub bombings, further solidifying her role as a key figure in the royal family’s public service.
