Duchess of Edinburgh Honors Her Husband with Special Jewelry During Cornwall Visit
Duchess Sophie made a touching nod to her husband, Prince Edward, during her visit to the Castle Heritage Centre in Cornwall on Thursday. The Duchess of Edinburgh chose to wear the same diamond stud earrings from her engagement interview in January 1999, in a sweet tribute to her beloved royal.
The sentimental accessory marked 25 years of marriage to Prince Edward, whom she wed at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. The couple has since made their home at Bagshot Park in Surrey, where they raised their two children, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex.
Royal fans were quick to notice Sophie’s meaningful choice, with one admirer commenting: “The Duchess of Edinburgh’s diamond earrings symbolize elegance and joy, shining with memories of their engagement and bringing a lovely smile to her face.”
Another fan added: “Such a lovely gesture—those earrings are simply beautiful.”
For the occasion, Sophie paired her earrings with stylish £490 trousers, a £235 necklace by Cassandra Goad, and a chic clutch bag by Sophie Habsburg, completing a sophisticated and sentimental look.
