The royal family’s official Instagram shared footage from Sophie and Prince Edward's recent visit to the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, marking its 80th anniversary. The post highlighted their visit to @stokemandevillestadium, the birthplace of the Paralympics.
The Duke of Edinburgh, who is the Patron of @paralympicsgb_official, joined the Duchess in meeting staff and patients in rehabilitation sessions at the Upper Limb Lab. They also toured @horatiosgarden, a space dedicated to supporting the recovery of spinal injury patients.
The royal family spokesperson confirmed that Sophie’s appointment as Patron of WheelPower continues her active representation of King Charles, particularly as the monarch faces ongoing health concerns.
