Monarch Admits Being "Moved to Tears" by Camilla’s Powerful Domestic Abuse Documentary
King Charles III, who turned 76 on November 14, shared a deeply emotional moment during a reception at Buckingham Palace, admitting he was "moved to tears" by Queen Camilla’s recent documentary on domestic abuse.
While hosting the glittering event to celebrate the centenary of the Film and TV Charity, the King spoke with TV producers Kerene Barefield and Naveed Chowdhary-Flatt from Love Monday Productions. He revealed his profound reaction after watching a preview of the documentary in Scotland, stating, "I was moved to tears."
British actor Damian Lewis, who praised the Queen’s impactful work, mentioned he had also been deeply affected by the programme. Charles responded, “It’s very moving, isn’t it?” The monarch then expressed his pride, saying, “I am really very proud of her.”
In a light-hearted exchange, Lewis, currently portraying Henry VIII in Wolf Hall: The Mirror and The Light, joked, "At least you can claim not to be related to him!" The King, who watched the series with Camilla, responded warmly, “You are fantastic in it.”
Despite attending the premiere of Gladiator 2, King Charles was without Queen Camilla, who remains at home resting on doctors' orders following her recent illness.
