Doctors Question Full Overseas Tour Plan Amid King’s Health Recovery
Following King Charles III’s recent successful 11-day tour of Australia and Samoa, Buckingham Palace announced plans for a “normal-looking full overseas tour programme” for 2025. While the Palace highlighted the King’s improved health, marking it as a “high point” for the monarchy, his medical team has raised concerns over the accelerated scheduling.
According to Daily Mail columnist Ephraim Hardcastle, the King’s doctors were surprised by the decision to prepare a packed overseas itinerary without a thorough medical assessment. Hardcastle reported that the King’s doctors had expected him to pause for recovery and a full health evaluation after postponing his cancer treatment for the tour.
The King, however, has opted for a retreat in India with Queen Camilla, spending time at a spa in Bengaluru to “relax and reset” after the extensive travel. While the royal couple takes this respite, the decision has reportedly left the King’s medical advisors puzzled, as they had anticipated a more cautious approach to the monarch’s health and upcoming commitments.
