Buckingham Palace Confirms King and Queen’s Private Rest at SOUKYA Centre on Return Journey from Australia and Samoa
Following a taxing 10-day tour of Australia and Samoa, King Charles and Queen Camilla made an unscheduled stop in India, sparking concerns about the King’s health. At 75, the monarch reportedly paused his ongoing cancer treatment due to his rigorous schedule but has now opted for a restorative break at SOUKYA, a wellness retreat near Bangalore.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson confirmed the royal couple’s private stopover, describing it as a way to break up the lengthy journey back to the UK. During their stay at the £3,000-a-week resort, Charles and Camilla are said to have engaged in a wellness routine involving morning yoga, rejuvenation therapies, and a nutritious vegetarian diet.
The SOUKYA retreat, run by Dr Issac Mathai, a long-time health advisor to the King, has hosted the royals on previous occasions. Dr Mathai commented on the couple’s commitment to the programme, noting, "They are the least demanding guests, fully embracing each session, from yoga to Ayurvedic treatments." The royal couple is expected to return to the UK on Wednesday.
