Duchess of Sussex Delays Release to Avoid Adding Strain to Royal Family
Meghan Markle has reportedly made a thoughtful decision to delay the release of her anticipated memoir, showing sensitivity to the ongoing health issues of senior royals.
The Duchess of Sussex, who previously revealed keeping a journal during her time as a working royal, is believed to be refraining from publishing her book to avoid causing further stress to the royal family.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams shared with The Express: “In theory, there’s no reason why Meghan couldn’t write a memoir. It would likely sell exceptionally well, depending on its level of sensationalism.” However, he added, “Releasing it now, with two senior royals facing serious health challenges, would seem uncaring and could result in significant public backlash.”
King Charles is currently undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer, while the Princess of Wales recently completed preventative chemotherapy following her own diagnosis earlier this year.
This decision from Meghan is being seen as a considerate move, signalling her awareness of the delicate circumstances within the royal family and a desire to avoid further tensions during these challenging times.
