Princess of Wales Joins Prince William to Welcome Qatari Royals for State Visit
As Kate Middleton prepares for her much-anticipated Christmas Carol concert, Buckingham Palace has confirmed her participation in a key royal engagement ahead of the festive season.
On Monday, the Princess of Wales will accompany Prince William to welcome The Amir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani in London. Representing King Charles, the royal couple will officially greet the Qatari royals at the start of their state visit.
The ceremonial welcome will feature a Royal Salute by the Guard of Honour and the playing of the Qatari National Anthem. King Charles will then join the Amir to inspect the Guard of Honour, formed by the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, accompanied by the Band of the Regiment.
Following the formalities, a carriage procession will transport the Qatari guests, along with Prince William and Kate, to Buckingham Palace to continue the day's events.
The two-day visit will conclude with a State Banquet hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla at Buckingham Palace. However, Kensington Palace has confirmed that while Kate will participate in several engagements during the visit, she will not be attending the banquet on Tuesday evening.
This appearance underscores Kate’s commitment to her royal duties while balancing her preparations for her festive Christmas event, a seasonal highlight.
