Duke of Sussex Highlights Invictus Games Mission Amid Royal Rift
Prince Harry has issued what appears to be a pointed message to King Charles and Prince William following reports that his calls for reconciliation have been ignored by the royal family.
On November 17, the Duke of Sussex made an unannounced appearance at Canada’s Grey Cup, the country’s most-watched sporting event, to promote the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025. During the event at BC Place, Harry participated in a symbolic jersey pass, a gesture that underscored the growing momentum for the Games.
In a statement posted on his and Meghan Markle’s official website, Sussex.com, Harry described the jersey pass as "a powerful reminder" of the Invictus Games’ mission. The Games, he noted, aim to "inspire, empower, and bring together athletes from around the world who have experienced life-changing injuries or illnesses."
Harry emphasised that the Games are not merely about competition but about "coming together as a global community to celebrate resilience, determination, and the power of sport to heal and inspire."
The timing of Harry’s message is notable, as royal expert Jennie Bond recently told OK! magazine that King Charles and Prince William are united in their lack of interest in reconciling with Harry. The key royals reportedly have "zero interest" in inviting the Duke back into the fold.
Harry’s public focus on the Invictus Games serves as both a personal and professional statement, reinforcing his commitment to global unity and perseverance while navigating the ongoing distance with his royal family.
