King Charles, a devoted grandfather, has found immense joy in his relationship with Princess Charlotte, who embodies a wish he had held for many years.
While Charles adores his sons, William and Harry, he had always hoped for a daughter. According to royal expert Jennie Bond, the King feels his wish has been fulfilled through his cherished bond with his nine-year-old granddaughter, Charlotte.
“It’s a source of great joy for the King to have a granddaughter,” Bond shared with OK! Magazine. “He had always hoped for a daughter himself, and now he has a darling granddaughter and a daughter-in-law he deeply adores.”
Bond noted the King’s closeness with Catherine, whom he affectionately calls his “darling daughter-in-law,” adding that their bond has strengthened in the wake of her health challenges.
Charles, currently recovering from cancer treatment, relishes time with Charlotte whenever possible. Palace sources confirm the monarch is making significant progress and preparing for a more active royal schedule in 2025, including overseas tours.
For now, moments with his grandchildren, particularly Charlotte, remain a precious source of comfort for the King as he continues his recovery journey.
