King Charles Fulfills Late Queen’s Wishes by Moving Prince Andrew and Ending Sussexes’ Lease
King Charles’s decision to evict Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore Cottage reportedly follows the wishes of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth, who had planned changes to Prince Andrew's lifestyle. According to royal biographer Robert Hardman’s updated book, the Queen intended to downgrade her “favourite” son's lifestyle, even if it meant reclaiming the Sussexes' Windsor residence, gifted as a wedding present.
An advisor close to the late monarch shared that had she lived another year, Queen Elizabeth would likely have personally ordered Andrew’s eviction. “It was her plan to end the lease for the Sussexes at Frogmore Cottage and move Andrew in there,” the insider revealed, citing financial practicality as the main factor behind the decision.
Queen Elizabeth stripped Andrew of his titles and patronages amid sexual assault allegations and his links to Jeffrey Epstein. Palace staff reportedly felt relieved by Andrew’s removal, with one former aide describing the atmosphere as “more than happy” to move his team out.
Following his mother’s intentions, King Charles has now cut Andrew’s financial support from the Privy Purse, making his relocation from Royal Lodge increasingly likely.
