Duke of York Criticised for Refusing to Walk the Late Queen’s Beloved Pets
Prince Andrew has been called out for allegedly shirking his responsibilities in caring for the late Queen Elizabeth II’s cherished corgis, Muick and Sandy, which he co-parents with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson at the Royal Lodge.
Royal commentator Charles Rae delivered a blistering critique on GB News, accusing the Duke of York of behaving like a "spoiled brat" amid reports that he’s been avoiding walking the dogs and instead delegating the task to palace staff.
"This is absolutely ridiculous," Rae declared, adding that Andrew’s behaviour places him "firmly on Santa's naughty list." The commentator went on to describe Andrew as throwing "his toys out of the pram" while expecting others to handle even the simplest of tasks.
Rae also noted the irony of the situation, highlighting that Andrew, who reportedly has five additional dogs, appears to have little involvement in their care. "I’m not suggesting that Fergie is doing all the walking," Rae remarked, "but this kind of royal behaviour is a step too far, even for palace flunkies."
Critics have pointed to Andrew’s apparent lack of purpose in his post-royal life, with Rae commenting that the Duke "spends his days sulking on the sofa." Despite his reluctance, the royal corgis continue to enjoy the limelight, receiving more attention than their owner in recent weeks.
The backlash serves as a reminder of Andrew’s diminishing public image, as even the care of the late Queen’s treasured pets becomes a point of contention.
