Father-Son Bonding Marks the Return of a Beloved Sandringham Tradition
Prince George has taken on a significant royal role, replacing his uncle Harry in the cherished Sandringham Christmas traditions.
For the first time, George joined his father, Prince William, in the pre-Christmas football match alongside Sandringham estate workers and villagers. The pair played on the same team, with Catherine and George's siblings, Charlotte and Louis, cheering them on from the sidelines.
An insider described the match as “healthy father-and-son bonding time,” adding, “It’s nice to see this tradition return after years of absence.”
The Sandringham football match was once a fixture for Harry, last attended in 2018 before his departure from royal duties. This revival of tradition appears to symbolise the royal family moving forward as William and George deepen their connection through their shared love of football.
With George stepping into this role, the young prince continues to follow in his father’s footsteps, solidifying his place in the evolving royal narrative.
