Sussexes Opt to Stay in California as Royal Family Excludes Them from Sandringham Festivities
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly decided to remain in California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, following news that the royal family has not extended an invitation for the couple to join this year’s Christmas celebrations at Sandringham.
Despite speculation that the Sussexes might move back to the UK after their close friend Ellen DeGeneres relocated there, royal expert Jennie Bond has dismissed such rumours. Speaking to OK!, Bond said, “They seem to love their life in California—sun, sea, and freedom have a lot to offer.”
Bond also highlighted Meghan’s closeness with her mother, Doria Ragland, and the couple’s desire to provide a settled environment for their children. “The kids are settled, and Harry has said he now regards the United States as home. When he does come back to the UK, he spends the shortest possible time here before returning to California,” she added.
Tensions between the Sussexes and senior royals reportedly remain unresolved. A source recently revealed that Harry’s calls to King Charles about his health and other matters have gone unanswered, reflecting the strained relationship with his father, brother Prince William, and sister-in-law Catherine.
The decision to remain in California signals Harry and Meghan’s commitment to building their future in the US, even as their estrangement from the royal family becomes more apparent during key moments like the Christmas season.
