Holiday Card Features Rescue Dog Mamma Mia Alongside Archie and Lilibet
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle delighted fans with their annual holiday card, introducing a special member of the Sussex family—rescue dog Mamma Mia.
The card, released on December 16, features a collection of photos highlighting the couple’s philanthropic efforts throughout 2024. However, it was the family photo that stole the spotlight, showing Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet running toward their parents alongside their beloved beagle, Mamma Mia.
Mamma Mia joined the Sussex household in August 2022 after being adopted from the Beagle Freedom Project, an organisation dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating animals from laboratory testing. At the time, the charity expressed their joy, saying, “Their adoption has brought such light to our mission.”
Animal rights lawyer Shannon Keith, who facilitated the adoption, shared a touching story about the first meeting: “Mamma Mia ran to them immediately, something we’d never seen her do before. She just knew this was her family.” Keith added, “Prince Harry sat on the couch, and she ran to him, placing her paws on his knees and wagging her tail like crazy.”
The inclusion of Mamma Mia in the holiday card reflects the Sussexes’ deep commitment to animal welfare and their personal bond with their furry family member, bringing a heartwarming touch to their seasonal greetings.
