Royal Couple Focuses on Family After Health Struggles and Affair Rumours
Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, have decided to prioritise their family this Christmas, opting for a quiet celebration at Sandringham with their children amid a tumultuous year marked by personal challenges and persistent rumours.
The couple, facing speculation about their marriage and Catherine's cancer battle, are using the festive period as an opportunity to strengthen their bond. A source close to the couple described 2024 as an "annus horribilis," referencing health struggles within the royal family and renewed affair allegations surrounding William.
"It’s been a horrific year for both of them," an insider revealed. "With Catherine’s illness, the affair rumours, and King Charles’s and Queen Camilla’s health concerns, they’re seeking a drama-free 2025 and time to heal."
The family, including their three children—George, 11, Charlotte, nine, and Louis, six—plans to arrive at Sandringham shortly before Christmas Eve, ensuring a peaceful and private holiday.
Rumours of William’s alleged involvement with Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, resurfaced earlier this year during Catherine’s health crisis. However, Kensington Palace has categorically denied the allegations as “totally wrong and false,” labelling the persistent gossip as especially painful during Catherine’s illness.
By choosing a low-key Christmas, William and Catherine aim to leave behind a challenging year and look forward to a united and healthier future.
