Duchess Reflects on Kindness and Gratitude While Staying Away from Sandringham
Sarah Ferguson delivered an emotional Christmas message this year, choosing to stay at Royal Lodge in Windsor with Prince Andrew amid his ongoing ties to a spy scandal.
In a video shared on December 24, the Duchess of York appeared alongside the late Queen Elizabeth’s cherished corgis, Muick and Sandy, spreading a message of kindness and reflection. “It’s a time of reflection, and I just want to say thank you,” Ferguson said. “To anyone feeling a little low or sad, take some joy and bubbles from us here. We’re sending you so much love.”
The heartfelt message came as Ferguson and Andrew opted out of the royal family’s traditional Christmas gathering at Sandringham. Reports indicate that the Duchess played a significant role in persuading Andrew to remain at Royal Lodge amidst renewed scrutiny of his connections to Yang Tengbo, an alleged Chinese spy linked to royal residences through Andrew’s invitations.
A spokesperson for Andrew clarified that his interactions with Yang were conducted through official channels and ceased once concerns were raised.
Despite their 1996 divorce, Sarah and Andrew continue to share an amicable relationship, residing together at Royal Lodge as they navigate public and legal challenges. Ferguson’s message, alongside the Queen’s beloved corgis, emphasised a spirit of resilience and gratitude during a challenging time.
