Jealousy and Trust Issues Reportedly Behind the Fallout
Meghan Markle and Victoria Beckham’s once-close friendship has reportedly taken a frosty turn, with royal experts suggesting jealousy and accusations of betrayal may have caused the rift.
The Duchess of Sussex and the fashion designer enjoyed a strong bond, with the Beckhams attending Meghan and Prince Harry’s star-studded royal wedding in 2018. However, their relationship has since cooled, and reports claim the two women are no longer on speaking terms.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield attributed the fallout to envy, telling Fox News, “It all boils down to jealousy.” She also pointed to accusations that Victoria had leaked stories about her friendship with Meghan to the press, further straining their bond.
Author Tom Bower, in his book House of Beckham, alleged that Meghan became furious when an article about her "growing friendship" with Victoria appeared in The Sun. The situation escalated when Prince Harry reportedly confronted David Beckham in a tense phone call to address the allegations. David, after discussing the matter with Victoria, is said to have furiously denied the claims, marking a turning point in the friendship.
Schofield also highlighted their differing personalities, describing Victoria as “the antithesis of Meghan Markle,” which may have contributed to the growing distance between the two.
The story has reignited public interest in the dynamics of celebrity friendships and the challenges of navigating trust in the spotlight.
