Meghan Markle has reportedly been dealt another setback from Buckingham Palace as Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh solidifies her elevated position within the royal family.
Before Harry and Meghan’s departure from royal duties in 2020, Sophie, then the Countess of Wessex, was obligated to curtsy to Meghan due to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s higher-ranking titles. However, following Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back, the dynamics shifted, bringing relief to Sophie.
In 2023, King Charles awarded Sophie and Prince Edward the prestigious titles of Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, further cementing their roles within the monarchy.
