Harry and Meghan urged to separate professionally to salvage individual reputations.
As 2024 comes to a close, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing a major setback, with their joint brand described as “beyond repair” by PR and crisis expert Ed Coram-James.
Speaking to The Mirror, Coram-James pointed to relentless media backlash and flawed public relations strategies as the root of their struggles. “The relentless media backlash, fuelled by their misguided PR moves, has left them in a position where joint branding is no longer viable,” he stated.
The expert noted that Harry’s attempts to rebuild his reputation after stepping back from royal life have been overshadowed by controversies surrounding Meghan, including disputes with her family and divisive public opinions. “Their relationship has made them a lightning rod for criticism,” Coram-James explained.
For the Sussexes to turn 2025 into a successful year, the PR expert suggested professional separation. He encouraged Meghan to focus on her strengths, such as her acting career, philanthropy, and advocacy for women’s rights.
On the other hand, Harry was advised to prioritise his work with veterans and conservation, especially through his beloved Invictus Games project. “His role as a war veteran and conservation advocate provides authenticity, which is something the public values,” Coram-James added.
As the Sussexes face growing challenges, separating their professional ventures and focusing on individual strengths could be the key to restoring their reputations in the coming year.
