Sussexes Face New Challenges as Trump’s Presidency Stirs Controversy
King Charles and Prince William reportedly continue to extend their support to Harry and Meghan Markle, ensuring they are not left to struggle in the United States despite the ongoing rift between the royal family and the Sussexes.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have faced growing concerns about their future in Montecito, California, following Donald Trump’s return to the presidency. Trump, known for his criticism of the couple, previously accused Harry of being "disrespectful" towards the late Queen and of "betraying" the royal family.
Royal expert Sarah Louise Robertson, speaking to GB News, claimed Trump’s potential actions against the Sussexes could be troubling for the monarchy. “Trump can do anything at the moment. Harry and Meghan may not be his priority now, but if they provoke him further, he may act decisively,” she said.
Robertson also emphasised Trump’s admiration for key royal family members, suggesting he is unlikely to take steps that would upset King Charles or Prince William. However, she warned Harry to tread carefully, particularly regarding his visa issues and past admissions about drug use.
“Trump doesn’t forget things like this, and he may very well do what Biden didn’t,” Robertson cautioned, leaving open questions about the couple’s future in the US under the former president’s leadership.
