Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster Join the King's Foundation as Ambassadors
King Charles is making significant updates to his royal duties as he prepares for his first international tour of 2025, which will see him travel to Poland to mark the 80th anniversary of the Holocaust at Auschwitz on January 27th.
Ahead of the trip, the King's Foundation unveiled two high-profile appointments to celebrate its 35th anniversary. Rock icon Sir Rod Stewart and his wife, Penny Lancaster, were named the newest ambassadors of the charity, joining an impressive roster that includes actress Sienna Miller and football legend David Beckham.
The Foundation, which focuses on practical education and training programs to build stronger communities and transform lives, continues to be a central element of Charles’s royal legacy.
Expressing his gratitude, Sir Rod said he was “pleased to be coming on board” and looked forward to supporting the charity’s work, particularly in such a milestone year. Penny Lancaster, who also serves as a volunteer Special Constable, highlighted her enthusiasm for the role, adding, “The Foundation’s focus on building communities and creating healthier, greener spaces resonates deeply with me.”
The announcement comes as King Charles continues his efforts to modernise and strengthen the monarchy’s philanthropic initiatives despite ongoing health challenges related to his cancer treatment.
The upcoming tour to Poland marks a significant moment in the King's calendar, reflecting his commitment to commemorating history while advancing the work of his Foundation. These appointments underscore Charles’s vision of leveraging high-profile advocates to expand the reach and impact of his charitable efforts.
