King Charles has issued a poignant tribute following the catastrophic plane crash in South Korea, which took 179 lives in the country’s worst air disaster to date.
In a moving statement, His Majesty shared: "My wife and I were profoundly saddened to learn of the horrific air accident at Muan, which resulted in such grievous loss of life.
As the people of the Republic of Korea mourn this disaster, the families and loved ones of all the victims are in our prayers."
Jeju Air Tragedy Shocks the Nation
The tragedy occurred on Sunday morning when Jeju Air flight 7C2216, arriving from Bangkok, crash-landed at Muan International Airport. The Boeing 737-800 skidded off the runway and struck a wall, triggering a deadly explosion.
Of the 181 people onboard, 179 lost their lives. Remarkably, two crew members—one man and one woman—survived and were rescued from the aircraft's tail section. They are currently receiving medical treatment for medium to severe injuries.
