King Charles III, crowned in 2023, is reportedly taking inspiration from two key figures in the royal family—Queen Camilla and Princess Catherine—to refine his leadership and strengthen his connection with the public.
The 76-year-old monarch credits his wife, Queen Camilla, for helping him embrace a more confident and compassionate reign. Body language expert Darren Stanton explained that Camilla’s less-restrictive upbringing before joining the royal family allowed her to encourage Charles to relax and lead with authenticity. “She’s shown Charles he can loosen up and be more loving. Camilla has made him feel confident to be the King he wants to be,” Stanton told Marie Claire.
This influence is evident in Charles’s increased accessibility and warmth during public engagements. Stanton noted, “His willingness to shake hands, hug people, and make eye contact shows a significant transformation. He’s much less distant.”
Princess Catherine has also played a pivotal role, advising Charles to let his guard down and reveal his personable side. A source told Life & Style that Kate encouraged Charles to become more relatable, helping him shed his “standoffish” reputation. “Kate has been giving Charles little nudges to show the world the side of him she admires,” the source revealed.
Despite his decades as the longest-serving heir apparent in British history, Charles remains open to learning from those around him. He has reportedly acknowledged that both Camilla and Catherine have been instrumental in helping him adapt his approach as a modern monarch.
