Meghan Markle Memoir: Alleged Book Project and Surprising Details Revealed

Rumoured tell-all sparks interest but never reaches the publishing stage.

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, reportedly explored the possibility of writing a memoir last year, following the release of her husband Prince Harry’s explosive book, Spare, in 2023. However, new details reveal why the alleged project was ultimately shelved.

According to Vanity Fair’s February issue, a source close to the situation revealed that Meghan’s team had preliminary discussions with a publishing house to assess interest in a potential book. While no formal proposal or manuscript was produced, the memoir was speculated to focus on “post-divorce” — not in reference to her ex-husband Trevor Engelson, but rather her current marriage to Prince Harry.

A second insider dismissed the claims, stating, “If that’s true to any degree, she would have been approached and not vice versa.” Without a concrete offer or further development, the project did not move forward.

This revelation comes as Meghan adjusts the timelines for other projects. Her Netflix lifestyle show, initially scheduled for a January debut, has been postponed to March due to the California wildfires. Additionally, there are no confirmed launch dates for her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, or her podcast collaboration with Lemonada Media.

Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Meghan has focused on building an independent life in the US, leaving the rumoured memoir as another intriguing, but unrealised, chapter in her post-royal journey.
