Monarch reportedly furious over property’s decline and latest controversies
Prince Andrew’s ongoing battle to retain Royal Lodge appears to be slipping further out of his control, with King Charles reportedly growing increasingly frustrated over the state of the property.
Despite demonstrating legitimate income sources to cover the estate’s upkeep, the Duke of York has struggled to maintain the residence, with reports suggesting it has fallen into disrepair.
Historic Royal Palaces gardener Todd Longstaffe Gowan revealed shocking details about the residence’s condition, stating, “It is in a shocking state… It would be impossible to maintain.” Andrew has allegedly attempted to manage the gardens himself in an effort to cut costs, but the task has proven overwhelming.
Concerned about the deteriorating state of royal artefacts, King Charles has reportedly ordered valuable heritage pieces removed from Andrew’s care for preservation and security reasons.
The King’s frustration has only deepened following recent espionage allegations, with a palace insider telling InTouch Weekly, “It’s no secret Charles is already at the end of his rope with Andrew, and the spy scandal is only going to exacerbate things.”
While Andrew continues to resist losing Royal Lodge, reports suggest Charles may have already made a final decision regarding his brother’s future, signalling an uncertain road ahead for the disgraced royal.
