Hollywood actress praises Sussexes’ thoughtful role in their Montecito community
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can breathe a sigh of relief after Hollywood actress Sharon Stone publicly defended them amid the backlash following a bombshell Vanity Fair cover story.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have faced allegations of toxic behaviour towards employees, with one former staffer claiming, “You don’t tell the couple no. I left because I couldn’t live with myself anymore.” Another described Meghan’s demeanour as that of a “mean girl.”
Amid the scrutiny, Sharon Stone, a Montecito neighbour, highlighted the couple’s positive contributions to their community. Speaking to Hello! magazine, the Casino actress praised their thoughtful and humble approach.
“You know, the thing about them that is so great is they didn’t come here to live off of our community; they came here to be a part of our community,” Stone said.
She recounted a personal anecdote from a friend, who saw Harry and Meghan cycling through Montecito. “My friend said she was sitting in her car, and they bicycled across the street and waved at her while she was sitting at the red light,” Stone shared.
“They’re a part of our community—they’ve become a giving, caring, participating part of our community,” she added.
Sharon Stone’s kind words come at a challenging time for the Sussexes, offering much-needed support and recognition of their efforts to build a positive presence in their adopted hometown.
