Montecito Neighbours Criticise Meghan’s Lack of Community Involvement
Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are reportedly planning a move to Los Angeles after facing criticism from their Montecito neighbours.
The couple has once again come under fire, with local residents accusing Meghan of being “un-neighbourly.” The backlash was highlighted in a German documentary, Harry: The Lost Prince, where Montecito resident Richard Mineards commented, “I personally don't think that Meghan is an asset to our community… She doesn't really go out or get involved with the community.”
While a source close to the Sussexes dismissed the claims as “absurd,” they admitted the criticism has been uncomfortable. Meghan reportedly insists she is social, maintaining friendships at the Polo Club and within an exclusive Hollywood circle.
Despite her appreciation for Montecito’s beauty, the insider revealed, “The neighbourhood vibe isn’t totally her speed.” The Sussexes are now said to be considering a move to Los Angeles in pursuit of a fresh start and a more A-list social circle.
In addition to their potential move to LA, reports suggest the couple recently purchased a property in Portugal near Harry’s cousin, Princess Beatrice, sparking speculation about a partial return to Europe and attempts to repair relations with the royal family.
