Prince William is reportedly taking decisive action regarding Prince Andrew’s future as King Charles grants his heir the authority to enforce tough measures in the wake of ongoing controversies surrounding the Duke of York.
After a turbulent year for the royal family, which ended with Andrew’s alleged involvement in a spy scandal, William has laid down “non-negotiable rules” to address what insiders describe as “destructive dysfunction” caused by his uncle.
A royal source revealed to InTouch Weekly that William is focused on eliminating any perception of special treatment within the family. “He wants expenses monitored closely and any unnecessary perks eliminated immediately,” the insider said.
Andrew’s public fall from grace began in 2019 when he was stripped of his royal titles and patronages by the late Queen Elizabeth following a sexual assault lawsuit and his ties to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. The latest controversy, involving a confidante of Andrew reportedly being a spy, has intensified calls for more stringent actions.
William, reportedly instrumental in pushing for accountability, has urged King Charles to proceed with measures that include monitoring Andrew’s activities and finances closely. “The days of wasteful spending and overconsumption are ending now that William is taking the reins,” a source explained. “He’s keen to position himself as a forward-thinking leader and expects the family to align with his vision.”
