Catherine, the Princess of Wales, has shared an emotional and uplifting health update in her first message of 2025, announcing she is in remission following a year-long battle with cancer.
During a visit to The Royal Marsden Hospital, Catherine expressed heartfelt thanks to the medical staff who cared for her during her treatment in 2024.
In a personal note shared on her official social media, she wrote, "I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well during the past year." She added, "My heartfelt thanks go to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything."
The Princess praised the "exceptional care and advice" she and her family received, describing it as invaluable during her journey to recovery.
Catherine also announced her new role as Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden, reaffirming her commitment to advancing cancer research and supporting patients and their families. "By supporting groundbreaking research and clinical excellence, as well as promoting patient and family wellbeing, we might save many more lives and transform the experience of all those impacted by cancer," she stated.
She concluded her message with hope and gratitude, saying, "As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am, however, looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support. C."
