The Queen’s sister reveals their deep bond and mutual support in emotional documentary.
Queen Camilla has leaned heavily on her sister Annabel Elliot during some of the most challenging moments in her life, highlighting the unbreakable bond they share.
Described as each other’s “rock,” Annabel has been a steadfast support for the Queen, particularly as she naviged recent challenges, including King Charles’s cancer treatment. The sisters’ close relationship was spotlighted in the BBC1 documentary Charles III: The Coronation Year, where Annabel shared heartfelt reflections about her sibling’s journey.
Recalling the surreal moment of watching her sister crowned Queen at Westminster Abbey, Annabel said, “When I thought back to being two years old and watching the Queen’s Coronation on a tiny black and white television, and now there goes this golden coach with my sister in it... I can’t explain the feeling because it’s so surreal. This cannot be happening.”
She also spoke about her nervousness during the coronation ceremony, revealing, “She’s quite a bit smaller than I am. I kept thinking, ‘Is she going to be all right?’”
Annabel praised Camilla for her unwavering loyalty, a trait that has become increasingly evident as she supports King Charles during his health battles.
The sisters’ bond exemplifies a unique source of strength and comfort, with Annabel playing a quiet but pivotal role in the life of the Queen during her most testing times.
